David Oliphant

David Oliphant

System Manager

David joined Tegrel back in 1984 and has progressed from shop floor assistant manager to his current position as Project Manager where he takes a proactive role in the management of a variety of projects.

As one who has ‘risen through the ranks’ David has encouraged customer focus at the centre of our service model and integrated this throughout each process. David encourages a forward thinking approach to continue the development of relationships, products and staff.

In his spare time, David gets out on a fresh, green course to enjoy his golfing hobby.

David McNicholas

David McNicholas

Engineering Manager

David joined the business over 20 years ago and has progressed to his current position as Engineering Manager with a sound grounding in all aspects of the engineering and manufacturing activities undertaken within the business.

He now leads the engineering team and is involved in all aspects of product design. A key part of his role is ensuring that customer requirements are satisfied.

David has a variety of outside interests including participation in various sports as well as being a keen computing enthusiast and a follower of motor racing.

Mark Longstaff

Mark Longstaff

Business Development Manager

Mark has rejoined Tegrel having previously worked in various roles for the company including project, engineering and sales positions. He therefore has an innate knowledge of Tegrel’s bespoke products and capabilities.

He has 30 years’ experience in all areas of fabrication and machining work, from light to medium / heavy gauge fabrication and machining, having worked on bespoke major subsea contracts as well as in other sectors and industries including oil and gas, space, aerospace and the defence industry.

Mark will be focusing on developing opportunities and the relationships with current, as well as new, customers and will be available to discuss any project, or aspect of the sales and commercial process or products and services that Tegrel offers to clients.

John Candles

John Candlish

Technical Sales Manager

John has been with Tegrel for over 21 years, first working on Technical enclosures for local control panel manufacturers and then later promoted to Technical Sales Manager.

He deals with most of our front end customer enquiries, while also estimating costs, preparing quotations and processing orders and is responsible for technical documentation and testing and inspecting of electro-mechanical assemblies.

John has full confidence in the abilities and skills of the engineering and production teams and high level of communication between the departments to ensure smooth transition from enquiry to finished products.

In his spare time, John is an active fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Richard Leech

Richard Leech

Consultant

Richard took over as MD from founder Roy Leech in 2005, but joined Tegrel almost 20 years ago.

He grew Tegrel with the aim of adding customer value at every opportunity and continually developed the company's product offering to the current position of providing full turnkey solutions.

Following the sale of the business to Hill and Smith Ltd in November 2015, Richard continues to provide ongoing advice and assistance to the business in a consultancy capacity.
